The closing date for the best SmartScreen widget contest, with a prize of a one iPod Touch 3g and 5 licenses for SmartScreen, has been extended to December 24th (12.00 PM CET). The contest was previously scheduled to close on November 20th.
Today we are opening a contest for the best SmartScreen widget.
The contest will run until 20 November 2009. Then we’ll stop to take widgets and begin to evaluate your widgets. Each developer can upload any quantity of widgets.
We’ll evaluate each widget by following criteria:
Each criterion will be evaluated from 1 to 10 points. All estimates are summed up and calculated the average score for each widget. The widget, which pick up the maximum grade point average, will be recognized as the best. Another four, having picked up as close to the winner, will be given consolation prizes.
All evaluations will be posted publicly with some commentary from us. The winner will receive an iPod Touch 3g and 5 licenses for SmartScreen. A consolation prize - a two licenses for SmartScreen.

Today we’re launching the SmartScreen Widget Gallery on our web site. This will showcase the widgets that the SDK developers have created alongside some of our own.
Also on this Wednesday will starting a contest for the best widget for SmartScreen. The winner will receive an iPod Touch 3g and 5 licenses for SmartScreen. The finalists will be given consolation prizes - 2 licenses for SmartScreen. The contest rules will be published on this Wednesday.
